The doors of Kosmetae Academy were opened in 1989, launching the Aesthetics industry in the beautiful Fraser Valley. Kristina Norgren, the founder and president of Kosmetae Academy, quickly set the bar for standards in education and was immediately recognized for contributions to the cosmetology community. In 1996, Kosmetae was invited to present seminars in Hunan Province, China, which we accepted. Attending those conferences were several representatives of the University and a Plastic Surgeon. Kosmetae felt honoured indeed! Kosmetae was one of the first private schools to be accredited in 2000 and remains accredited to this day. Under the vision and leadership of Ms. Norgren, the alumni have set standards of quality and excellence within British Columbia and beyond. They are known for their European standard of training and are pursued by salons and spas across North America. Kosmetae also became a member of the International Therapy Educational Counsel (ITEC) providing graduates the opportunity to work within 30 Commonwealth countries.

Kosmetae’s dedicated Instructors remain at the forefront of their profession by attending national and international conferences and by continually injecting new information into their curriculum. This provides the students of Kosmetae with a competitive edge in the marketplace and ensures that they receive training in the latest techniques. This competitive edge was showcased in the 2006 BC Skills Competition, when four students from Kosmetae Academy competed and brought back twelve medals, which included a gold for Aesthetics and a gold for Nail Technology!
